My Healthy Hair Journey: Part 4

The Benefits Of Switching To An All-Natural, Herbal Shampoo And Conditioner

To those returning, welcome back! For any new comers: thanks for joining me on my healthy hair journey and I hope you stick around. This series documents my journey since giving up toxic, chemical-based haircare products for a more natural and surprisingly, less demanding, haircare routine. While I’ve been using The Innate Life Haircare Bundle from the start, the Herbal Shampoo and Conditioner has recently earned a permanent spot in my shower, and I’m here to tell you why.

I am undoubtedly a bargain shopper. So much so that my mom gets excited when I buy things for myself at full price. I don’t know what it is, I just love a good deal and the thrill of saving is motivation enough to buy $1.99 body wash without knowing a thing about it, or even liking its scent. So you can imagine my difficulty when switching to better quality, natural products; I was definitely out of my super-savers comfort zone. Once I realized all the nasty chemicals I was leaving behind, I had no issue putting my money to better use.

Since beginning my journey I have learned to shop smarter, not cheaper, and while natural products seem to be on the pricier end of the spectrum, they actually aren’t. What I’ve found with many of these products is that without all the fillers there is more room for real ingredients, and these real ingredients allow the products to be more concentrated – therefore, lasting longer. This is exactly what I found to be true with The Innate Life Herbal Shampoo and Conditioner.

I have been using the Herbal Shampoo and Conditioner for about 2 months now, and I could not be more pleased with the results. These products are jam-packed with the best herbs for your hair, and I can’t help but feel like I’m receiving some herbal spa treatment every time I use them. Check out the blog post: The Best Herbs for Hair Health if you’re looking to see exactly what herbs are in these products, and how they benefit your hair.

I usually wash my hair twice a week. I try to coordinate leaving the Scalp Treatment and Herbal Hair Mask overnight before wash day to really reap the benefits of the products. If you’ve ever had any difficulty getting the Scalp Treatment (or any other product) out of your hair the Herbal Shampoo will be a life-saver! It smells wonderfully of lemon and even lathers (yes, you read that right). It removes the Scalp Treatment with ease and even if you shampoo twice, it doesn’t leave your scalp and/or hair feeling stripped of moisture and dry. In fact, if you’re washing out the Herbal Mask as well, you can totally skip the conditioner all together and still come out with the most soft and silky locks.

The Herbal Conditioner is a prime example of a little bit goes a long way because this stuff is potent! Containing powerhouse herbs such as: Slippery Elm Bark, Brahmi Leaf, Burdock Root, Horsetail, and Neem, this product smells like herbal heaven. There is no need to completely saturate your hair like you would with other conditioners because a little bit is all you truly need. Of course this varies according to your hair type (thin or thick) but I’m telling you: these herbs and oils will penetrate your hair even in the smallest of doses.

In conclusion, my hair feels healthier than ever! I haven’t gotten a haircut in 4 months because my ends are consistently SO hydrated and healthy. My scalp has a shine to it like I’ve never seen before, and my natural texture has improved drastically! My bad hair days are few and far to none, and I couldn’t be happier to cut a solid 30 minutes out of my ‘getting ready’ routine.

For those who have tried the Shampoo and Conditioner I’d love to know what you think! Please leave me a comment below or any questions you may have about these new products – I’d love to chat!

Until next time!

  1. I’m also a big fan of the shampoo and conditioner. I have super dry, curly hair and in the past have always had to use a LOT of conditioner on my hair to be able to tame the frizz and get a comb through it, but I find that i use far less of both with the Innate Life products.

I’m also not big on scented products because I generally find the scents somewhat overwhelming, but I have to say the Innate Life shampoo smells amazing.
